He’s definitely changing the genre after the release of his first album Channel Orange, which came out recently with so much buzz surrounding it. Christopher Breaux aka Frank Ocean is only 24 years old and have accomplished so much in music. He has also written for megastars like Justin Bieber, Brandy, John Legend, Beyonce and even for Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Watch The Throne album. Legendary singer Stevie Wonder has even sung his song before and that is quite a big deal. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit Ocean’s hometown of New Orleans and his recording facility, which was looted and destroyed by floodwater.[12] To continue recording music, he moved to Los Angeles and intended to stay for six weeks, but extended after these opportunities starts going his way. The artist from New Orleans, Louisiana is signed to Odd Future Records, Def Jam and The Island Def Jam Music Group first released his free mixtape titled Nostalgia,Ultra just last year, which gained a whole lot of buzz from music critics through songs like “Novacane” and “Swim Good”. The only singer on the rowdy crew of Odd Future, which is led by MTV Video Music Award 2011 New Artist winner Tyler, The Creator, recently released his first debut album Channel Orange and it is simply a masterpiece.

Before the release of Channel Orange, Frank Ocean dropped a couple of singles from the album namely “Thinkin’ Bout You”, “Pyramids” and “Sweet Life” to gain more hype. Before he could even promote the album, everyone’s buzzing about Channel Orange already and showing it a ridiculous amount of love. His charisma as an artist is undoubtedly respected for not being that fame chaser. Frank Ocean just wants you to listen to him when he sings. Channel Orange is game-changing for the music industry and there’s a reason he won the title of Rookie of the Year in GQ magazine last year. This is a beautiful collection of honest R&B music.
